Mini Olympics Results!
The inaugural Mini Olympics has been a resounding success with over four thousand children throwing, running and jumping to win the title for their school or class. Twenty one schools took part, each entering entire year groups from Year 1 and 2 in three Olympic themed activities.
Children had great fun running around hoops, throwing beanbags and jumping against their class mates during PE lessons and at lunch times, sometimes being assisted by young leaders from older year groups.
Every school that ran the event sent their results into Ben Lett, the Competition Manager, who collated and compared in order to find overall winners for Year 1 and 2. Trophies were presented to the top 3 classes from each year group across the whole borough during April's Partnership Day.
Ben would like to thank every school that took part and congratulate the winners of all awards. Due to the incredible success he plans to run a similar competition next year including more year groups.
